Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton 's artistic director for less than a year, is once again stirring up controversy with his Fall-Winter 2024-2025 collection, unveiled this Tuesday at a Far West-style fashion show. Last summer, his first show on the Pont Neuf was roundly criticized by environmentalists, as was his use offur in his creations. Nevertheless, this season Williams persists, showcasing models wearing coats in red fox or pink and white mink.

This decision sparked outrage among animal rights groups, notably PETA, one of whose activists protested at Louis Vuitton's after-party on the evening of the show. Holding up a sign reading "Animals bleed for your fashion, Pharrell", the activist drew attention to the animal exploitation seen at the show.

PETA's reaction was not limited to this episode. On X (formerly Twitter), the association shared a video denouncing the python slaughterhouses in Asia, used to create Louis Vuitton bags. According to our confrères, a petition is also circulating accusing the persistent use of real fur by Louis Vuitton and other houses of the LVMH group, while most of the fashion industry has abandoned this practice.
