SUV parking in Paris: special rates to be introduced in September 2024

Under the municipal plan, owners of thermal or plug-in hybrid vehicles exceeding 1.6 tons (or two tons for electric vehicles) will be charged triple parking rates. The central arrondissements will be charged €18 per hour, while the others will be charged €12. Implementation of this measure, which excludes residents parking in their own neighborhoods and professionals (delivery drivers, cabs, etc.), will depend on the Paris Council's decision in May. The municipality estimates that this surcharge will affect around 10% of the car fleet.
