Did you hear a fighter jet fly over your town this lunchtime? Don't panic, it's normal: it was a tribute to Admiral de Gaulle, during a ceremony at Les Invalides!

Many people were concerned this lunchtime when they heard the sound of a fighter jet overhead, often reminiscent of an explosion due to its speed. Two Rafale fighter jets circled the capital, flying over the Yvelines region in particular, to make a stopover at Les Invalides, for a ceremony held in honor ofAdmiral Philippe de Gaulle, the general's eldest son, who died on Wednesday March 13, aged 102.

The ceremony, presided over by Emmanuel Macron, ended at the stroke of midday with a flyover by two Rafale fighter jets from the French Navy to pay tribute to his memory. Don't panic, these fighter jets were authorized to fly over Paris! Very noisy, they prompted Parisians to get out and check what was going on, some even believing it to be an attack, given the tension with Russia in recent weeks. They were also accompanied by a radar plane.
