This Sunday, September 28, 2025, the 46th edition of the Paris-Versailles Race will involve major parking and traffic restrictions in the 7th, 8th, 15th and 16th arrondissements of Paris, as well as in Versailles. The 25,000 runners will set off from the Eiffel Tower towards the Château de Versailles, covering a distance of 16.2 kilometers. The Race Paris-Versailles 2025 returns for its 46th edition this Sunday, September 28, in the Yvelines and the capital, with its legendary course linking the Eiffel Tower to the Château de Versailles.

This "Grande Classique " brings together 25,000 national and international runners over 16.2 kilometers, transforming the whole of western Paris into a huge sporting playground. Its scope imposes major traffic and parking restrictions in several Paris arrondissements, as well as in Versailles, Viroflay and Vélizy-Villacoublay. The measures will run from September 25 to 29, 2025, with a peak of bans on race Sunday.

What are the restrictions in Paris for the Paris-Versailles race?

Traffic restrictions in Paris will mainly affect the 7th, 8th, 15th and 16th arrondissements on September 28, 2025. According to prefectoral decree no. 2025-01118, several prohibition perimeters are gradually being activated.

No traffic from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. :

In Versailles, parking restrictions are spread over several days to allow structures to be set up and the race to run smoothly.

From Thursday, September 25, 6 a.m. to Monday, September 29, 8 p.m. :

  • Avenue de Paris, axial roadway on the odd-numbered side, on the longitudinal and herringbone parking spaces, between rue Champ Lagarde and the crosswalk at no. 37

From Friday, September 26, 6 a.m. to Sunday, September 28, 8 p.m. :

  • Avenue de Paris, chaussée axiale on the odd-numbered side, from no. 21 to no. 29 up to the transverse carriageway
  • Avenue de Paris, axial pavement, even-numbered side, at right of return from rue de Noailles for 20 meters
  • Avenue de Paris, axial carriageway, even-numbered side, between rue Champ Lagarde and rue de Vergennes

How is traffic organized on race day?

On race day, Sunday September 28, several levels of bans apply to ensure the safety of the 25,000 participants.

Traffic is totally prohibited from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. :

  • Avenue de Paris (RD10), axial, lateral and transverse carriageways, between rue des Etats-Généraux and place Louis XIV
  • Avenue Louvois

No traffic from Friday, September 26, 7 a.m. to Monday, September 29, 12 p.m. :

  • Avenue de Paris, cycle path on the northern median strip, between rue Champ Lagarde and rue Dussieux

These provisions do not apply to event organization, police and emergency vehicles.

In Vélizy-Villacoublay: Special detours will be set up along the race route. We strongly advise you to plan ahead, avoid using your car and take public transport instead. Parking will also be prohibited on the Avenue de Paris and on the roads used by the runners.

The organization of this 46th edition draws on the experience of the Paris Versailles Association, which coordinates this major event in the Paris region sporting calendar. The police and municipal services are working closely together to ensure the smooth running of this event, which makes the heart of western Paris beat every last Sunday in September. Motorists are invited to consult the prefectoral decrees regularly, and to plan ahead to avoid the areas affected by these exceptional measures.
