The Hôtel de Ville and République stations of the Paris metro will be inaccessible for several hours on Sunday, November 9, 2025. This exceptional closure of the metro stations was decided by the police headquarters as part of the 13-Unis race, organized bythe French Association of Victims of Terrorism (AfVT) in tribute to the 10th anniversary of the attacks of November 13, 2015.
The Hôtel de Ville station, served by lines 1 and 11, as well as the République station, which is an important transfer hub for lines 3, 5, 8, 9, and 11, will not be accessible this Sunday. Trains will not stop at these stations and transfers will not be possible.
This measure is part of a large-scale commemorative event. The 13-Unis race offers two routes: a 15-kilometer Liberty race starting at the Stade de France at 9:30 a.m., and a 7-kilometer Equality walk starting at Place de la République at 2 p.m. Both routes converge at the Village of Fraternity, located on the steps of City Hall.
At each location affected by the attacks, a living art installation combines classical music played by volunteer musicians with a participatory collective work by artist Olivier Terral. These creations embody the transition from mourning to reconstruction, forming a participatory tribute to the victims.
The RATP has specified that the stations will reopen on the orders of the police headquarters, although the exact time is not yet known. Users are advised to plan alternative routes for their journeys in central Paris on Sunday.
This sporting and commemorative event, conceived by the victims themselves, aims to bring society together around republican values and transform pain into energy for the future, ten years after the attacks that plunged Paris and the whole of France into mourning. Access to the Village de la Fraternité on the steps of City Hall remains free and open to all throughout the day.
