Since January 13, 2026, drivers in Île-de-France have had to adapt to a major closure on the N118 in Sèvres. The exit ramp No. 1 from Vélizy and the roundabout are expected to be inaccessible for the next year. This initial phase of work is part of the overhaul of the Manufacture de Sèvres interchange, a bold project integrated into the Cœur de Seine initiative, which aims to transform the riverbank areas between Boulogne and Suresnes.
The project goes beyond just road infrastructure. It is part of a broader urban redevelopment initiative along the banks of the Seine, aimed at revitalizing these areas and easing traffic flow in one of the most densely populated regions of the Hauts-de-Seine. With nearly 280,000 vehicles passing through this key interchange every day, disruptions are unavoidable. The Hauts-de-Seine department has implemented several detours to minimize inconvenience for commuters.
For drivers coming from Vélizy and wishing to reach Sèvres, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Saint-Cloud, Suresnes, or La Défense, the recommended route is via the Sèvres Bridge. If you're heading from central Sèvres toward Issy-les-Moulineaux, we suggest taking Troyon Street. Those traveling toward La Défense from the heart of Sèvres will also need to use Troyon Street, but caution is advised: a U-turn must be made at number 28. Lastly, if you're coming from Issy-les-Moulineaux heading to the Sèvres Bridge, drivers will need to turn around in front of the Manufacture.
In February 2026, a new restriction will be added to the current arrangements. Troyon Street will be closed for an entire week, from number 2 to number 22. This temporary closure will require commuters to adjust their routes once again. Those traveling from central Sèvres towards Issy-les-Moulineaux will need to cross the Sèvres Bridge, then take the RD1 exit heading toward Paris City Center and the Billancourt Bridge. To reach La Défense during this period, the route will remain the same up to the RD1 exit, after which travelers should follow signs toward Bois de Boulogne.
These numerous detours are likely to significantly extend travel times, especially during rush hours. If you frequently travel through this area, plan ahead and stay updated with the latest information from the department to adjust your route based on the progress of the work.
The Manufacture de Sèvres interchange is a key hub in the Paris region’s road network. Its refurbishment is essential to modernize aging infrastructure and enhance traffic flow in the long term. As part of the Heart of Seine project, this upgrade aims to rethink the riverbank layout and create new public spaces for residents, all while optimizing traffic circulation. Such projects require careful planning and coordination, which is why the interchange will be closed for a year to carry out all necessary work effectively.
Although there are some temporary inconveniences, these improvements are expected to make future travel smoother in the Hauts-de-Seine district and improve overall traffic conditions. In the meantime, patience and caution remain essential for all drivers passing through Sèvres.
