In response to the demonstration scheduled in Paris for this Saturday, October 24, 2026, the Musée en Herbe has decided to exceptionally close its doors to the public from 1 p.m. onward.

Located near Rue de Rivoli and the La Samaritaine department store, the Musée en Herbe is no ordinary museum... Often overlooked, this cultural and artistic venue is dedicated to children. Through fun exhibitions tailored to young visitors, the Musée en Herbe introduces children to art in all its forms.

The museum is usually open year-round, except on January 1 and December 25. However, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the musée en Herbe has decided to close its doors.

This decision is linked to the demonstration planned in Paris this Saturday. This major protest movement brings together high school students, university students, unions and Yellow Vests, following a route from Place de la Bastille to Nation. For several days, the demonstrators have been denouncing the erosion of public services, the lack of resources allocated to the national education system and the rising cost of living.

Previous demonstrations have seen violence and damage in central Paris. To protect tourist sites and businesses from the violence, several venues have therefore decided to close to the public on the day of the demonstration.

Le musée en Herbe is therefore exceptionally closing at 1 p.m. this Saturday. You can still visit the current exhibition in the morning. The museum is expected to reopen as usual on Sunday, October 25. Before heading there, visitors are advised to check the museum’s official website to avoid finding the doors closed.
