For the Night of Museums, we're heading to explore the Museum of Freemasonry, which will be opening its doors free of charge for an evening visit this Saturday, May 23, 2026. This unique museum peels back the curtain on the fascinating history of the organization, founded in 1778 by Benjamin Franklin. It houses thousands of documents that shed light on the important role that Masonic lodges have played in shaping the Republic, especially in establishing core values like tolerance, secularism, and solidarity.
More than two centuries of history are presented in 400 square meters. Ritual decorations and objects belonging to lodges and masons are on display, as are seals, jewels, medals, manuscripts, engravings and architectural books. Numerous photographs shed light on the daily lives of Freemasons.
