Have you ever explored the Archaeological Crypt of Paris? Nestled beneath the Parvis of Notre-Dame Cathedral, this underground site uncovers the remains of 4th-century baths, a fragment of wall from Ancient Lutetia, and also the ruins of the old Children’s Home, built in 1750...
A mysterious location often mistaken for the Catacombs of Paris, this historic site is surprisingly little known among Parisians. Since 2014, the Crypt has showcased 3D reproductions of the city through the ages, offering visitors a visual journey into Paris’s expanding urban landscape. You can even follow the progress of construction at the Notre-Dame Cathedral on touchscreen displays accessible to visitors of all ages!
Step by step, we wander through more than 2,000 years of history, in a breathtaking setting that tells the story of Paris from ancient times to the present day.
