Did you love the movie La Nuit au musée? We invite you to relive the same adventure... or almost. On Saturday, May 23, 2026, museums, monuments and châteaux across France invite you to the Night of Museums : an evening of exhibitions, concerts, activities and all kinds of surprises for the whole family.
The Musée de la Vie Romantique is also taking part in this 22nd edition, offering a timeless moment guided by the performances spread across the museum’s different spaces. It’s a chance to (re)discover the home of Ary Scheffer and his circle of artist friends, including the renowned George Sand, who helped shape 19th‑century Paris. Night of Museums also lets us enjoy the museum’s current temporary exhibition in this hidden gem in the 9th arrondissement.
So, what can you actually do during this special evening at the Musée de la Vie Romantique? Here’s the lineup of festivities, and a heads-up: the museum fills up fast with Parisians on Nuit des Musées. Be sure to arrive early so you don’t miss the evening’s activities!
The Musée de la Vie romantique hosts the Voco-Cello Duo, pairing two artists from the Opéra Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie: Hwanyoo Lee, soprano with the Opera Chorus, and Cyrille Tricoire de Haro, the orchestra’s principal cellist. This project sits within the “Focus Korea” initiative organized by the Korean Cultural Center in partnership with Paris Musées, celebrating the 140th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and France.
The Voco-Cello Duo presents a program centered on the meeting between voice and cello—two timbres bound by breath and by their power to convey emotion. In keeping with the venue’s spirit and its Romantic imagination, the program weaves a dialogue across different works and repertoires, in a sensitive, cross-cutting approach. Some pieces include a light electronic setup, used in real time to enrich the cello’s resonances and to open listening to new nuances.
Designed for Museum Night, the program follows the evening’s rhythm and offers a distinct musical moment, in harmony with the unique atmosphere of this night.
The duo will deliver three 30-minute performances in the museum courtyard, between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
How could we resist? For us, the Musée de la Vie Romantique is a must for our Parisian Museum Night!
