A great opportunity to discover the world of stamps! As part of the 21st annual Nuit des Musées (Museum Night), the Musée de la Poste is offering night-time tours of its permanent collections on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Come and discover the history and richness of this unusual museum.

The Musée de la Poste opened its doors for the very first time on June 4, 1946, in the heart of theHôtel de Choiseul-Praslin, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. The museum originally housed a collection of postage stamps. The museum moved to the Necker district, in the 15th arrondissement, in a brand-new, larger space built between 1969 and 1972. The inauguration took place a year later, in 1973, in the presence ofHubert Germain, Minister of the Post Office. The museum reopened in 2019, after several years of renovation.

Today, you'll discover the history of the Post Office, as well as major stamp collections. These astonishing collections may well surprise you: there are overa million philatelic items, more than 200,000 images, 37,000 works and objects illustrating the history and professions of La Poste from the Middle Ages to the present day, 30,000 printed works and 800 magazine titles, not forgetting a collection of mail art andcontemporary art.

On the program for Nuit des Musées 2025 at the Musée de la Poste:

  • HYPNOTIC VISIT OF THE EXHIBITION
Led by hypnologist Juliette Verga Laliberté, who sees her practice as a relational state to oneself and to the world. This activity will enable visitors to return to their senses and sensibility, to apprehend the works in a different way, and to take a unique look at the exhibition "La fabrique du Temps". It will also be an opportunity for visitors to indulge in an unusual experience, to experience a distortion of time and free themselves from the grip of everyday life.
    Times: 7:30pm - 8:00pm / 8:15pm - 8:45pm / 9:00pm - 9:30pm

  • A JOURNEY IN A TIME LOOP: FILM PROJECTION
On the top floor of the museum, the experience takes on another dimension with a film projection. If visitors had the chance to relive the same day over and over again, which one would they choose? The secret protagonist has no say in the matter, and every morning wakes up to the same song, stuck in the same town with the same curious mascot. We bet this film says something to the visitor! Only the seventh art can tell such stories, so head to the Musée de La Poste to (re)discover what to do if you ever find yourself stuck in a time loop.
    Showtimes: 7.30pm

  • "SLEEP CONCERT": IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE OF RELAXATION
To close the evening, Musée de La Poste invites you to a musical siesta by Ujjaya and Aurélien Digard. Ujjaya, a European figure in ethno-ambient music, combines his world of sound with that of Aurélien Digard, photographer and guitarist with a passion for the Parisian experimental scene. For 2h30, bewitching layers, ritual instruments and hypnotic sounds will guide visitors through an immersive experience of relaxation and letting go, where time stands still.
    Opening hours: 9:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Let yourself be tempted by the discovery of this original little museum, which is opening its doors to us free of charge. Happy Museum Night, folks!
