Want to find out what's in store for Nuit des Musées in the Hauts-de-Seine? Whether you're looking to discover the region's heritage or find out where to go out near you, the 92 region has some great discoveries in store for us. This time, we're heading for Issy-les-Moulineaux, in the middle of theÎle Saint-Germain park, home to Jean Dubuffet's Tour aux Figures.
Founder of the so-calledArt Brut, Jean Dubuffet began creating this monumental work as early as 1967, and today it is an unusual cultural landmark in the Paris region. The public is invited to visit the interior of the tower to immerse themselves in the artist's world.
So, what can we expect from Jean Dubuffet's Tower of Figures during the Night of Museums 2026? Here’s the schedule!
In the Discovery Area of the Tower of Figures, visitors are invited to extend their experience through a creative act. The windows become canvases to imagine, color, and transform. Each person leaves behind a mark—an image, a pattern, an idea. Gradually, a collective mural begins to emerge—an ephemeral artwork born from the gaze and hands of those who visit.
Location: within the Discovery Area of the Tower of Figures (the pavilion at Île Saint-Germain Park), open freely from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
Originally built in the 1980s using the materials of its time, the Tour aux figures underwent restoration in 2019 and was opened to the public in 2020. Designed as an interactive piece, it invites visitors to step inside, explore, and experience it firsthand. This kind of immersion, much like the changing climate, now raises crucial questions about preservation. In the face of temperature fluctuations and environmental shifts, how can we envision the future of the tower—balancing heritage with ecological transition?
This exhibition project takes an artistic and forward-looking approach: exploring what the Tour aux figures might look like in 2050. These ideas are developed by second-year students in the DN MADE (Diplôme National des Métiers d’Art et du Design) program at Jacques-Prévert High School in Boulogne-Billancourt.
Location: in the discovery area of the Tour aux figures (Hall of the Parc de l'île Saint-Germain), open to the public free of charge.
The Figure Tower offers evening visits that invite guests to see the artwork from a fresh perspective. After a guided ascent, visitors arrive at the upper chamber, bathed in a gentle dim light. Illuminated by flashlights, shapes and patterns of the Hourloupe gradually come into view. It’s a gentle, engaging experience—part exploration, part imagination, part artistic discovery—perfect for families or friends looking to share a unique cultural outing.
Step into the world of Jean Dubuffet and his Hourloupe series, guided by an immersive soundscape. Voices, personal stories, whispers, and vibrations accompany your journey through the exhibition. An invitation to experience the artwork in a new, more visceral way.
Location: Discovery Space at the Tower of Figures (Hall of the Island of Saint-Germain Park)
