Join us for World Music Day on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Paris’s Italian Cultural Center. What’s in store? A free Neapolitan concert by the Cantanapoli choir!

Music lovers, this event is tailor-made for you! The Italian Cultural Centre invites you to let the Italian melodies move you on Sunday, June 21, 2026, to mark the latest edition of the Fête de la Musique in Paris. A free concert, a dive into Italian culture, and a memorable moment ahead — what more could you ask for?

Located on rue des Prêtres Saint-Séverin, in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, the Italian Cultural Center is a non-profit cultural association founded in 1979. Its mission? To promote and publicize the Italian language and culture in France, and the French language and culture in Italy. Every year, the Italian Cultural Center offers a wide range of courses and events.

For Music Day 2026, the Italian Cultural Center invites you to come together on Sunday, June 21 for a journey through a free Neapolitan concert by the Cantanapoli choir. The program features a selection of Neapolitan songs from the 13th to the 20th centuries, not to be missed in front of the Italian Cultural Center starting at 7 p.m.

As a reminder, the Fête de la Musique was created in 1982 on the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture. That year, the Ministry of Culture's studies and research department conducted a major survey of French cultural practices. It revealed that five million people, including one young person in two, play a musical instrument. So Jack Lang, architect and scenographer Christian Dupavillon, a member of his Cabinet, and Maurice Fleuret came up with the idea of a major popular event to enable all musicians to express themselves and make themselves known. The very first Fête de la Musique was launched on June 21 1982, the symbolic day of the summer solstice.

Here's what's on for this year's Music Day 2026 at the Italian Cultural Center:
