Music Day 2026 in Aulnay-sous-Bois (93): Joe Dassin tribute concert

To mark this year's Fête de la Musique, Aulnay-sous-Bois will take you back in time! On Sunday, June 21, 2026, the town of Seine-Saint-Denis invites Julien Dassin for a concert paying tribute to his father. The gathering will take place on Boulevard de Strasbourg.

But what exactly is the Fête de la Musique? Once a year, on June 21 (the summer solstice), this large, popular and free musical celebration invites musicians of all levels—amateur and professional alike—to celebrate living music and to showcase the breadth and diversity of musical practices across all genres.

Created by the Ministry of Culture in 1982, the Fête de la Musique has since gone international, becoming a national event in several countries, including Luxembourg, Italy, Greece, Peru, and Colombia. Over the years, the festival has learned to reinvent itself and has grown into an iconic occasion that people look forward to every June 21.

This year’s program promises to be as rich and eclectic as ever in Paris and across Île-de-France. If you’re in Seine-Saint-Denis, head to the town of Aulnay-sous-Bois. On Sunday, June 21, 2026, for the new Fête de la Musique, the Île-de-France city welcomes a slate of new live acts. Notably, you can catch Julien Dassin in concert for free. The son of the legendary singer will perform from 8 p.m. on the Boulevard de Strasbourg. It’s the perfect chance, one imagines, to dive back into Joe Dassin’s discography and belt out some of his many hits, performed live for the occasion. Among the classics: “Indian Summer,” “Whistling on the Hill,” “Les Champs-Elysées,” “Et si tu n’existais pas,” and “Dans les yeux d’Émilie.”

The town of Seine-Saint-Denis also welcomes on June 21 the Cape Verdean singer Ronisia. Regarded as one of the standout voices on today’s Francophone music scene, the artist will perform at Place du Marché de la Rose-des-Vents.
