Guitar, bass, drums, double bass, violin, piano, flute or harp... what instrument will you be playing on June 21 for the new Fête de la musique? Every year on the same date, budding musicians take to the streets to share their passion with as many people as possible.
This year, this great popular and festive event, which is still going strong more than 40 years after its launch in France, returns on Saturday June 21, 2025 with a host of free concerts in a wide variety of styles. Rock, blues, jazz, electro, world music, rap, R&B and French variety... on June 21, all musical styles will be featured, to satisfy everyone's tastes and desires, and to celebrate the Fête de la musique in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
So, what's on the program for June 21 in Paris and the Île-de-France region? If you live in Seine-Saint-Denis, then head for the town of Pierrefitte-sur-Seine. The towns of Saint-Denis and Pierrefitte-sur-Seine officially merged on January 1, 2025, giving rise to the Commune nouvelle. With a population of almost 150,000, it is the second most populous city in the Île-de-France region after Paris.
The Ile-de-France town of Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, which is accustomed to welcoming talented artists for the Fête de la Musique, this time invites French artist Jessy Matador. The singer and dancer will take over the Parc Frédérick-Lemaître for a unique, free concert. The singer, originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, is best known for having represented France at Eurovision in 2010, as well as for his songs"Décalé Gwada" and"Mini Kawoulé".
