The Fête de la Musique returns to Paris for a 43rd edition that's sure to get the cobblestones dancing! On Saturday June 21, 2025, as every year, the capital will be transformed into a giant open-air stage. From the streets to museums, parks, bars and monuments, the decibels will be everywhere, free of charge and without false notes. Amateur musicians, solo pros, groups in search of a groove: all are invited to bring out their instruments and make the capital vibrate. Kicking off thesummer season, this popular festival gets the hearts of Parisians - and all music lovers - beating in unison, right through the night.
This year, the Préfecture de Police de Paris turns up the heat and gets in on the act! Located in the heart of theIle de la Cité, this imposing neo-Florentine barracks was built between 1863 and 1867 to house the headquarters of the Paris Guard. Built on the ruins of the Saint-Eloi church and the Barnabite convent, it was allocated by the Préfecture de Police in 1871, before being taken over definitively in 1929. A building steeped in history, initiated by Haussmann, which for one evening swaps its uniforms for lively sheet music.
On June 21, the Maison Bleue de la République opens its doors to live music.
