It's a popular and eagerly awaited musical event every year, as it marks the start of summer and offers music lovers a wide range of good deals. This year, the Fête de la Musique falls on a Saturday. So you can enjoy a long, balmy evening over the weekend.
By the way, do you know how the Fête de la Musique came about? In 1982, the Ministry of Culture's studies and research department conducted a major survey of French cultural practices. It revealed that five million people, including one young person in two, play a musical instrument. So Jack Lang, architect and scenographer Christian Dupavillon, a member of his Cabinet, and Maurice Fleuret came up with the idea of a major popular event to enable all musicians to express themselves and make themselves known. The very first Fête de la Musique was launched on June 21, 1982.
Since then, the Fête de la Musique has continued to make us dance and sing every June 21. Once again this year, there's a whole host of great places to go in Paris.
If you're looking for an electro event on the water. Then we might just have what you're looking for.
