The Rice Market returns to Paris for its third edition this Saturday, October 4, 2025, on boulevard Auguste Blanqui in the 13th arrondissement. Over 50 Asian street food stalls, cultural events, concerts and shows make up this free festival celebrating the Moon Festival.

The Rice Market is back in Paris' 13th arrondissement this Saturday, October 4, 2025, and this time it's getting bigger. Join us from 12pm to 11pm between Place d'Italie and Corvisart for a culinary journey through Asia without leaving the capital. This third edition of the Asian street food festival brings together over 50 stands representing 11 Asian countries and regions. The event, organized by Mairie du 13e, the Entreprises 13 association and Guang Hua Cultures et Média, celebrates the Moon Festival, an age-old tradition that marks the arrival of autumn and symbolizes family reunion.

Good news for gourmets: this year, part of the boulevard will be closed to traffic. So you can stroll leisurely between the stalls without being jostled. Paris' Asian district is clearly counting on this event to become a new cultural landmark, on a par with Chinese New Year, which already attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. For Jérôme Coumet, mayor of the 13th arrondissement, the Moon Festival deserves just as much visibility. And it's clear that the public is following: at the first edition in 2023, over 20,000 people had already turned out, creating a real village festival, according to the organizers.

As far as your taste buds are concerned, we warn you, you're going to have to make some choices. Over 50 stands will be offering the best Asian specialties from China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippines and Indonesia. Here's what's on the menu:

  • Sizzling Korean barbecues
  • Lao hot dogs for a change from the classic
  • Jianbing guozi, Beijing's famous pancakes
  • Fried noodles in all their forms
  • Golden brown grilled sausages
  • Roujiamo, the kick-ass Chinese burger
  • Malatang, the spicy fondue that wakes you up
  • Japanese fusion tacos
  • Indonesian fried rice with a thousand flavors
  • Soft rice cakes (nian gao)
  • Fragrant lamb skewers
  • Traditionalmoon cakes to take home

No fewer than 45 restaurateurs, hand-picked from among the best in the Paris region, will treat you. And don't forget that Daniel Tran, a young arrondissement councillor, reveals that the organizers tested the restaurants incognito before contacting them. We appreciate the attention to detail. The aim? To avoid endless queues and duplicate menus. Clever. The Marché Auguste Blanqui is located in the heart of Paris' Asian district, a stone's throw from the Vietnamese restaurants on Avenue de Choisy, Tang Frères grocery stores and traditional shops. The perfect opportunity to extend your immersion after the market.

But Rice Market isn't just about food. More than 15 local associations, booksellers, artists and creators will be on hand to liven up the day. We've put together a program just for you:

  • Live concerts and DJ sets with lively K-pop rhythms
  • Yingge dance performances to discover traditions
  • Traditionalmusic shows
  • Chilli pepper competitions for the more daring
  • Asianspinning top games
  • Peking operamake-up to transform yourself
  • Fitting of traditional Hanfu costumes, ideal for photos
  • Initiations to Asiancalligraphy
  • Encounters with books on Asia
  • Children'splay area
  • Maison de l'Indonésie stand with a tattoo artist from Indonesia

This year, the play area has been enlarged so that families can enjoy their day even more.

The event celebrates the Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, a tradition dating back over 1300 years in Asia. This celebration marks the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, the time when the moon is reputed to be the most round and luminous of the year. Families gather to admire the moon and taste the famous mooncakes, round cakes filled with red bean paste, lotus seeds or salted egg yolk. These sweet treats symbolize unity and sharing. From October 4 to 11, 2025, the entire 13th arrondissement will vibrate to the rhythm of this tradition, with a host of cultural events. A great opportunity to immerse yourself in Asian cultures without taking a plane.

The Rice Market is free and open to all. Whether you're with family or friends, a local student or a tourist passing through, you're welcome. Jacques Hua, president of the Entreprises 13 association, has a clear vision: "to develop the neighborhood" around street food, which is an integral part of Asian culture. The warm, family atmosphere of previous editions has won over a wide audience, from residents of the 13th arrondissement to curious Parisians and the capital's Asian students. Tang Frères is also offering its new collection of traditional and creative mooncakes, and CFA Voyages is teaming up with La Fondue Zhangge for an exclusive competition on Instagram. The prize? Free Hot-Pots to keep you warm this winter. Isn't that nice?

Rice Market 2025 awaits you on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 12pm to 11pm, at the Marché Auguste Blanqui in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, between the Place d'Italie and Corvisart metro stations (line 7). Admission is free, we insist. Don't miss the full program of the Fête de la Lune in the 13th arrondissement and the Fête de la Lune in Paris.
