This year, once again, to our great delight, the Musée des Arts et Métiers participates in the Nuit Blanche de Paris, offering an innovative program that's suitable for the whole family. This Saturday June 6, 2026, you can take advantage of a free visit to the museum to (re)discover its exceptional collections.
The Musée des Arts et Métiers is one of the most fascinating places for young and old alike. Here you'll find an extensive collection honoring industrial and technological creations. This collection, one of the oldest in the world, includes Clément Ader's Aéroplane, known as Avion n° 3 (1897), Foucault's pendulum (1851), Pascal's Machine arithmétique (1642-1652), Lavoisier's Gazomètre (1787), Thimonnier's model of the first sewing machine (1830), as well as the model of the "Telstar 1" telecommunications satellite and other technical and technological innovations of the 20th century.
During this exceptional artistic nocturne, the Musée des Arts et Métiers has planned a special program, which should fascinate visitors young and old... The museum's historic works and exhibits are set to take center stage, in an unusual, innovative yet mysterious project. To find out more, you've got to go!
Video, Installation, Performance.
Straddling design, fiction and history, visual artist Alain Bublex turns an ordinary car into a poignant storytelling device. From 3,000 fully redesigned documents and archives, he reconstructs the arc of automotive innovation, exposing its detours, hunches, and understated inventions. Under the arches of Saint-Martin-des-Champs Church, his drawings glow across several screens, with no text or dates, inviting visitors to a purely aesthetic first encounter. Gradually, these roaming silhouettes gain meaning through a headset-driven “conversation” that gradually reveals the origins and rise of the vehicle.
Present in the crowd, Bublex extends the narrative in real time: he speaks, sketches, moves through the space, and engages with the audience. A living, interactive installation where artistic gaze, imagination, and improvised exchanges fuse to create a unique collective experience. A truly living moment at the heart of MuAM’s collections.
Alain Bublex is a French artist who blends design, architecture and contemporary art. He reinvents everyday objects and spaces through drawings, films and installations, crafting alternative narratives that poetically and immersively explore innovation, the city and the future.
An intriguing outing that should delight young and old alike! A great family visit awaits you.
