A gallery steeped in darkness, works to uncover with a flashlight and a forest of totem-like trunks to cross: the Ateliers d’Artistes de Belleville present Nuits sauvages... ou presque at the galerie des AAB, for Nuit Blanche, from Saturday 6 to Sunday 7 June 2026. From 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., the public can freely explore a route conceived both outside and inside the gallery, between a storefront mural-collage and an immersive collective installation. The project, curated by Marie Fargeot, Sylvie Lardet, Thierry Page and Chi Phan, plays with darkness, light, and the idea of a nature that is at once familiar and unsettling.
The Nuit Blanche is one of those occasions when Paris reveals itself in a different way, through free exhibitions, installations, performances, and experiences offered in cultural venues, studios, galleries, or even more unexpected spaces. In Belleville, the event finds a natural footing with the AAB, an association founded in 1989 to defend creative spaces and spotlight the work of local artists. Today, it brings together more than 250 artists and 23 collectives, with exhibitions, open studio doors, and projects that keep the Belleville art scene buzzing year-round.
With Wild Nights... or Almost, the visit isn’t just about admiring well‑lit works on white walls. The flashlight forces you to slow down, to scour with your gaze, to let details reveal themselves step by step. Between shelter, unease, imagined vegetation and suspended shapes, the route conveys a simple vibe: the night doesn’t just hide things—it changes the way you perceive them.
