Nuit Blanche is a unique cultural event that transforms Paris into a huge museum open all night long. Once a year, the city's cultural spaces, from museums to art galleries, open their doors free of charge to the public for a night of art and discovery. It's an exciting celebration of culture and art, a chance for everyone to discover unique exhibitions, performances and installations.
At the heart of this cultural night, the Guimet Museum, also known as the National Museum of Asian Arts, offers an unparalleled experience this Saturday, June 6, 2026. Founded in 1879 by Émile Guimet, a French industrialist and scholar with a passion for Asia, this museum houses one of the world’s most extensive collections of Asian art outside Asia. From India to China and Japan, the museum takes visitors on a 5,000-year journey through Asian art history, across 5,500 m² of permanent galleries—traversing the cultures, religions, and arts of this diverse continent.
More than 10,000 objects tell us more about Asian history and the Middle Ages. The collection includes furniture, clothing, ceramics, sculptures and manuscripts, as well as contemporary works, including Japanese ceramics by Hakuko Ono, Takahiro Kondo and Machiko Ogawa, photographs by Cambodian artist Mak Remissa and Japanese artist Takashi Arai, and the bamboo work of Chikunsai Tanabe, all of which offer a different perspective on a continent that seems attached to its traditions but is constantly renewing itself.
For Nuit Blanche 2026, a visit to the Nuit Blanche 2026, a stop at the Guimet Museum is a must. Not only will you have the chance to delve into its rich collection of Asian art, but you’ll also enjoy guided tours, temporary exhibitions and hands-on workshops.
