The smallest of the grand department stores, the jewel of Pont-Neuf, one of Paris’s most iconic buildings: the Samaritaine is a true symbol of the city, serving as a haven of elegance and fashion for all style enthusiasts. But on Saturday, October 1, 2022, it’s more than just a department store: it’s also a stunning venue hosting the work of artist Etienne Krähenbühl.
Swiss artist sets up in Place de la Samaritaine, on Rue de la Monnaie, to reveal a stunning, mesmerizing monumental sculpture. Celebrating the 20th edition of Nuit Blanche, the artist has created a kinetic and sonorous sphere made up of 850 pieces, titled Bing Bang.
Etienne Krähenbühl offers his own interpretation of the birth of the universe through a piece that appears to come alive with each movement of its various components. This striking installation, free to the public, seems to dance, sing, and breathe—embodying the creative energy and primal breath at the heart of creation.
