For Nuit Blanche 2026 in Paris, the city’s churches are serving up charming artistic programs, often full of surprises. Head to the 12th arrondissement, at 1, rue Cannebière or 186 avenue Daumesnil depending on the entrance, to (re)discover the Church of the Holy Spirit , which unveils its schedule for the 25th Nuit Blanche edition in Paris and in Île-de-France, set for this Saturday, June 6, 2026.
Contemporary artists have drawn inspiration from this spiritual site and invite us to dive into their creations during Nuit Blanche in Paris. The old and the new, sacred art and contemporary art meet for an unforgettable, must-see evening.
This red-brick church, evocative of Northern houses, was built between 1928 and 1935 by architect Paul Tournon. Its floor plan echoes Istanbul’s Hagia Sophia. Realized in reinforced concrete under the guidance of François Hennebique’s firm, its exterior is clad in Burgundy red bricks. Its decorative program retraces the history of the militant and then triumphant church from the 2nd to the 20th century, and draws on the Ateliers d’Art Sacré, who produced the wall painting and fresco, the sculptures, the stained glass, the ironwork, the mosaics, and the cartoons for the crypt’s stained glass.
This place steeped in history is opening its doors for the Nuit Blanche 2026—come and discover it!
Music
TORNMUSIK – for three is a concert conceived by Amina Hocine for the Church of the Holy Spirit (Paris 12), in dialogue with the sound sculpture shown at the Swedish Institute. The two formats form a diptych around the idea of “vertical music,” exploring the links between time, space, and listening.
Three musicians treat the Church of the Holy Spirit as a playing partner. The sound shifts with height, distance, and direction, saturating the venue’s long reverberation. In this sense, the architecture becomes a full-fledged instrument: sonic textures interact with the building and sketch a true acoustic matrix.
TORNMUSIK also unfolds as a sound sculpture presented at the Swedish Institute.
Amina Hocine is a composer and sound artist based in Stockholm. She is particularly known for her work with a self-built modular organ, which she has presented on stages across Europe. Her music relies on immersive textures, minimalist and spiritual foundations, and psychoacoustic effects she calls Sound Crystals. Her work explores the interaction between space and sound, both acoustically and perceptually. She composes pieces for performers much like acousmatic works. Her most recent creation premiered at the FOCUS festival of INA GRM in April 2025. Her debut instrumental album, ātamōn, was released on Subtext in July 2025.
A collaboration between the Swedish Institute, Les Inspirations Visibles, and LES ORGUES / SAINT-ESPRIT.
