Ground Control's Nuit Blanche 2026 program:

  • PAULA ROSOLEN, HAPTIC HIDE / NOICE/NOISE
Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM

    Performance, Dance, Music
In NOICE/NOISE, a Franco-German co-production, Paula Rosolen / Haptic Hide develops a choreographic meditation on the ubiquity of noise — from digital overload to the political clashes of our times. Inspired by early-20th-century futurism, Rosolen and three performers investigate how sound shapes our bodies and mirrors social and historical shifts — not only as an aural element, but also as visual, physical, and emotional interference.
This specially designed version for Nuit Blanche features two performances during the evening: at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. The piece was selected by Aerowaves as part of the Artist #Twenty26 program.
Paula Rosolen studied dance at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt and holds an MA in choreography and performance from the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at Justus Liebig University Giessen.
In her choreographic practice, she develops a distinct gestural language for each work, creating autonomous aesthetic universes shaped by precise visual and sonic choices. Her projects are connected by a research-driven, ongoing inquiry into the body as a place where the organic and the mechanical, the individual and the collective, collide. Movement serves as a poetic space, inviting multiple readings and drawing on pop culture, mass media, and historical events that recur over time and are recontextualized within contemporary discourse.
Her works — including Aerobics! A Ballet in 3 Acts (2015), FLAGS (2020), 16BIT (2022), Beat by Bits (2022), THEATER (2024/2025), NOICE/NOISE (2025) and ICONICA (2025) — have been presented internationally in theatres, museums, galleries, and public spaces, notably at Paris l’été Festival, Espace 1789, Théâtre de la Ville – Paris, deSingel, Theater Festival Basel, Tokyo Festival, Tanzplattform Deutschland, Mousonturm, Tanzhaus NRW, HELLERAU, schwere reiter, Museum Angewandte Kunst, Sofia Arsenal – Museum of Contemporary Art, and Loods6 Amsterdam.
She has been invited as a choreographer at Opera Köln, Stadttheater Giessen, and Staatstheater Darmstadt.
Rosolen is Aerowaves Artist #Twenty26. She has received the Premier Prix de Danse Élargie (Théâtre de la Ville de Paris) and has benefited from numerous international residencies, including Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto, Saison Foundation in Tokyo, and the Hessian Cultural Foundation residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
