For this edition of the Summer Games in Paris, Paris 2024 committee wished to innovate. Ceremonies usually take place in stadiums or arenas. But in July 2024, the opening ceremony is set to take place outdoor: “The city will become the living background of an exceptional moment, the different scenes of a total show will stage monuments, bridges and cultural places set along the Seine”, Paris 2024 explains.

A six-kilometer outdoor route is planned. Therefore, all those who wish can freely attend this great parade with the athletes. To get a better view, paid seats will be put on sale on the event’s ticketing service.

Access to the upper banks is free of charge, but spectators will have to pay to be seated by the lower banks, between the Pont d’Austerlitz and the Pont d’Iéna. To make sure everyone can see the show, 80 giant screens will be set up in the city.

At least 600,000 spectators will be able to attend the festivities, ten times more than in an Olympic stadium”, the committee claims.

You will have to rely to chance to be able to buy a ticket for the Olympics Opening Ceremony: a random draw system has been set up for the ticketing service. This system is used to attend the sports challenges and the opening ceremony.
