From August 28 to September 8, 2024, the whole of France will vibrate to the rhythm of the Paralympic Games, following on from the Olympic Games. As with the latter, a torch relay is organized with athletes, but also French people, who will carry the torch one after the other, from August 25 to 28, after it has been lit in the historic cradle of Paralympic sport in Stoke Mandeville, England.
Following its passage under the English Channel, the flame will be multiplied into 12 torches, carried by 1,000 scouts in some 50 towns, who will then converge on the capital at the same time. During the Relay, a Festival of the Flame will be organized in the heart of the towns, with music, activities and para-sports initiations on the program! After passing through a number of towns in the Île-de-France region, all of which embody the values of inclusivity, the flame will join the cauldron on Place de la Concorde, for the first opening ceremony outside a stadium! Find out if it's coming your way!
