Here we go again! This Wednesday, August 28, the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games are officially launched. Until September 8, the Olympic venues will once again welcome a large number of athletes in their respective disciplines, including cecifoot, goalball, para table tennis, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair rugby or para track cycling and para powerlifting.
In the run-up to these events and the medal celebrations, Paris hosts the famous Paralympic Opening Ceremony . As with the Olympic Games, the opening ceremony of the Paralympics is announced outside a stadium. After a popular parade down theChamps-Élysées, the opening ceremony will take place on the legendary Place de la Concorde, in front of 35,000 ticketed spectators.

To ensure the safety and smooth organization of this event, the Préfecture de police de Paris has announced traffic disruptions, particularly in central Paris, on the boulevard périphérique and on the A1 freeway.
At the end of this opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the vasque will also make its return to the Parisian sky. Still installed in the Tuileries Gardens, the Olympic cauldron will rise again from this Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the very end of the Opening Ceremony.
So, what time and where can you see the cauldron take flight this Wednesday evening? In a press release published on August 27, the Préfecture de Police offers some advice for those wishing to attend the event. The raising of the cauldron is scheduled for around 11.15pm, at the end of the ceremony.
The Préfecture de Police has also announced the creation of " two zones within the protection perimeter " to watch the cauldron take to the skies. The first zone is in the Carrousel gardens, accessible via rue de Rohan and place du Palais-Royal. The second zone is located on the high quays on the left bank, accessible " via the access points of the 11 streets perpendicular to the quay between the Pont de la Concorde and the Pont des Arts ".
Then, from August 29 onwards, the cauldron will be raised every day at sunset.
