But it's all about finding the right idea to mark the occasion! If you're a gourmet couple, we've got a great suggestion for you: why not treat yourself to a palatial meal?
The Shangri-La has made a name for itself in the hearts of Parisians thanks to its fine gourmet offerings. This Valentine's Day, the palace invites itself into your love nest. The beautiful Parisian address unveils two gourmet menus, one for dinner (188€ for two people), the other for brunch (138€ for two people), imagined by Executive Chef Christophe Moret and Pastry Chef Maxence Barbot. Both formulas are available for delivery or takeaway. So, what does the famous Parisian palace have in store for us?
For dinner, the Shangri-La offers scallops marinated in a fine citrus jelly, a soft-boiled egg, caviar, watercress, brioche mouillettes and a golden sea bass, candied potimarrons nourished with black truffle. A light vanilla origami heart with Muroise confit closes this tasting for dessert. To toast your love, the hotel also adds a bottle of Veuve Clicquot carte jaune, and to prolong the pleasure, a brioche feuilletée caramel passion to be savored the next morning (if you don't crack before) slips into this romantic basket. Finally, a long-stemmed red rose adds the romantic touch that makes all the difference.
As for brunch, a special menu awaits Sunday bruncheurs. The savory side includes scallops in rare citrus jelly, smoked salmon with mimosa garnish, beef cecina chiffonnade, coquillettes à la truffe gratin, shrimp rolls, Caesar salad and Saint-Marcellin cheese to share. The sweet side includes a brioche with raspberry-ginger jam, two large madeleines with honey jam, lollipop macaroons, croissants, baguette and cereal rolls, honey jam and butter. A bottle of Veuve Clicquot carte jaune, two Alain Millat orange juices and a long-stemmed red rose complete this romantic brunch. Enough to make everyone agree!
All you have to do is choose! But be warned: to enjoy these menus, you'll need to reserve in advance. Orders can be placed from January 21 to February 12, 2021 at 6pm for collection or delivery on February 13 and 14 for dinner, and February 14 only for brunch. So mark your calendars!
