Released in 2011, Les Tuche marks the beginning of the adventures of this colorful family. Directed by Olivier Baroux, the film stars Jean-Paul Rouve, Isabelle Nanty and Claire Nadeau, in a story where a modest family from Bouzolles sees its destiny turned upside down by an unexpected 100 million euro jackpot.
Far from changing their way of life, the Tuches remain true to their philosophy: "Man is not made to work", which leads to a series of funny situations when they move to Monaco, between misunderstandings and culture shock.
Les Tuche will be broadcast on TF1 on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 11pm.
Synopsis: In Bouzolles, everyone knows the Tuche family. Jeff, Cathy and their three children live by the "système D". Respecting the Tuche philosophy that "man is not made to work", the whole family strives to be happy despite the cruel lack of income.
Their lives were all mapped out. They would always be poor, but happy. But an upheaval was about to threaten this fragile balance. The Tuches were about to become rich, very rich. The 100 million euros they won at the Euroloterie changed everything.
If you're going to change your life, you might as well change where you live. What could be more logical than for the Tuches to move to Monaco, where Cathy has always dreamed of living?
They'll have to make themselves accepted, integrate into their new homeland, change their habits without changing their feelings. This is no easy task for a family whose motto is "Tuche for one, Un pour Tuche".
Olivier Baroux 's Les Tuche is a comedy that plays on the contrast between a modest family and the world of luxury. The humor is based on absurd situations, punchy dialogue and the Tuches' own language, with its improbable expressions and strong accents.
The film will appeal to fans of popular French comedies in the tradition of Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis or Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu? On the other hand, those looking for a finer, more satirical comedy may not be drawn to the deliberately caricatured humor.
The first opus in a saga that's become a must-see, Les Tuche has a light-hearted tone and absurdist humor, with a cast of actors and some now-cult lines. An ideal film for a relaxing evening.
