Philippe Lacheau has adapted the cartoon into a movie, "Nicky Larson and the Secret of Cupid", a comedy in which he plays the lead role. To discover on television this Friday, February 3, on M6.

It is a bit of a childhood dream that Philippe Lacheau realized in 2019. At 38, the actor and director of comedies"Baby-sitting","Alibi.com" or"Marry me my friend" had adapted for the cinema"Nicky Larson", the famous cartoon based on the manga"City Hunter" by Tsukasa Hojo, broadcast on TF1 from 1990 in the"Club Dorothée". A feature film in which he will play the former cop turned private detective and bodyguard flirtatious and heartbreaker. While waiting for the release ofAlibi.com 2, on Wednesday February 8, the film is broadcast on television this Friday, February 3, on M6, at 9:10 pm.

Who doesn't remember the famous credits interpreted in French by Jean-Paul Césari that we all sang at the top of our lungs in front of"Club Dorothée"? "In the heat of the night, evil is always punished. No danger impresses him. He loves hard knocks. And justice is his passion. Nicky Larson fears no one."

Our opinion

Like many people, when we heard about a movie about Nicky Larson, we thought "But why? Stop the massacre". We went to see it anyway out of curiosity, and we have to admit that the result was way above our expectations!

We loved the multiple references to Récré A2 throughout the film that take us back to childhood! Laura, played by Elodie Fontan, is very touching, but don't be fooled by her sweetness, she knows how to handle the hammer like no one else!

We find the abracadabra story of a Nicky Larson who is obviously very fond of girls, but who nevertheless remains an excellent detective and an outstanding fighter! With improbable but very funny fight scenes.

Philippe Lacheau's feature film has perfectly captured the comic-kitten side of the original series. We didn't expect much and frankly, we laughed a lot!
