The Current War, an Alfonso Gomez-Rejon movie starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland and Nicholas Hoult is slowly getting revealed with a brand-new trailer. A movie postponed indefinitely since 2017 because of the Weinstein case….

A top fight! This is what promises moviemaker Alfonso Gomez-Rejon with The Current War, a feature movie taking place during the war of the currents between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse in the late 19th century. Moving on to the cast, we have Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange, Avengers: Endgame…) as Thomas Edison as well as Michael Shannon (Midnight Special, The Shape of Water…) as Westinghouse as well as Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Tolkien…) as inventor Nikola Tesla.

A cast also including Tom Holland (Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home…), Katherine Waterston (Alien: Covenant, Fantastic Beasts…) and even Tuppence Middleton (Imitation Game, Jupiter….). A movie said to be out in the USA on October 4, 2019 but no date has been announced yet in France. It was originally said to be out in 2017 but postponed because of the Weinstein case, his company delivering the movie. Yet, it was out in March 2019 in Greece and it should hit Europe and the rest of Europe within – let’s hope so – the end of the year.

Plot:

A look on the fight between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse, two giants from the electricity industry. Until Nikola Tesla steps in…
