Iris leaves England for Amanda’s home in California. Meanwhile, Amanda discovers Iris’s cottage in the heart of the English countryside. Both women mainly wanted to get away from their love lives, but their stays have other encounters in store for them.

Jude Law plays Graham, Iris’s brother, and Jack Black plays Miles, a composer she meets in California. Eli Wallach portrays Arthur, an elderly screenwriter with whom Iris strikes up a friendship. Released in 2006, the film was written and directed by Nancy Meyers, following What Women Want and Something’s Gotta Give.
