The Hunger Games on TMC: Jennifer Lawrence enters the arena in Panem

Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her sister’s place in a deadly competition: Hunger Games (The Hunger Games) returns to TMC. Directed by Gary Ross, the film stars Jennifer Lawrence as the teenager who must represent her district in an event organized by the Capitol.

In the country of Panem, each district sends a boy and a girl to these televised games. Katniss is joined by Peeta Mellark, played by Josh Hutcherson. Their mentor, Haymitch, played by Woody Harrelson, must prepare them for an arena where survival also depends on the image they project to the public.

Released in France on March 21, 2012, the film adapts Suzanne Collins’s first novel. Elizabeth Banks plays Effie Trinket, Donald Sutherland portrays President Snow, and Liam Hemsworth plays Gale, who remains in Katniss’s district. This first installment introduces the characters and the rules of the saga, ahead of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
