It was one of the best-known cinemas in Paris. The Gaumont Champs-Elysées Marignan had been in the spotlight for many months, but now it's official, according to a report in Film Français. The cinema on the world's most beautiful avenue is set to close its doors for good, before the end of 2023. The Pathé-Gaumont brand will disappear from the avenue, after having been there for 90 years. The cinema opened its doors in 1933.
There are now just two cinemas left on the Champs-Elysées, the UGC Normandie and the Publicis. After the Bretagne a few days ago, this is the second cinema to close its doors definitively at the end of 2023.
If you're a film buff, there are still a few days left to make one last visit to Gaumont Champs-Elysées Marignan, before it closes for good.
