Monkey D. Luffy and his crew head to a world-class music festival. On stage, Uta, the most famous artist in all the oceans, is about to sing in public for the first time. Her voice, endowed with a mysterious power, could upset the balance of the world. What the audience doesn't know is that Uta is the daughter of the legendary pirate Shanks the Red.
The project marks the return of director Goro Taniguchi to the saga, more than twenty years after the OVA One Piece: Defeat the Pirate Ganzack! released in 1998. According to a statement from Toei Animation, Eiichirō Oda, creator of the manga, personally encouraged the filmmaker to take the helm of this feature film. Tsutomu Kuroiwa's screenplay explores the relationship between Shanks and his daughter Uta, an original character created for the film.
In the French version, singer Hoshi plays Uta. A fan of the manga since childhood, she describes her participation as a tribute to the world of One Piece. This dubbing was produced under the supervision of Toei Animation Europe and distributed in France by Pathé.
The tone combines musical spectacle and epic adventure, emotion and humor. Aimed at a family audience, the film will appeal to fans of the manga as well as those discovering the saga for the first time.
