The world of cinema is about to welcome a new jewel, as of February 14, 2024. Reem Kherici, a well-known figure in the world of cinema, presents her latest film, Chien et Chat. Combining humor and suspense, the film tells the story of two unlikely duos on a breathless journey from Montreal to New York.
The story revolves around Monica, played by Reem Kherici herself, owner of Diva, an Internet star cat. On the other side of the glamorous world, we find Jack, played by the talented Philippe Lacheau, a thief by trade who has just stolen an enormous ruby of inestimable value. But there's a twist: the precious ruby is swallowed by a stray dog named Chichi. As if fate were unleashed on our two protagonists, they lose track of their precious companions.
What follows is an energetic road trip. Monica and Jack, despite their differences, join forces in a frantic race to find Diva and Chichi. Meanwhile, our four-legged heroes live out their own adventures, trying to find their masters while escaping the many pitfalls in their path. But danger lurks, as policeman Brandt, played by Franck Dubosc, is on their trail, ready to do anything to recover the famous ruby.
In terms of casting, Chien et Chat stands out for its judicious choices. Reem Kherici, who has already proven herself as an actress and director, plays an endearing Monica, who should take us through a whole range of emotions. Philippe Lacheau, with his undeniable comic talent, forms an electric duo with Reem Kherici, who should bring a much-needed lightness to the ensemble. As for Franck Dubosc, he slips perfectly into the skin of the tenacious policeman Brandt, adding an extra layer of tension to the plot.
All in all, Chien et Chat promises to be one of this year's must-see films. If you're a fan of adventure, explosive duets and stories where humans and animals share the limelight, then see you on February 14 for a humorous Valentine's Day at the movies.
