TheAcid 2024 selection has been announced! Among the works selected is Fotogenico, a feature film by Marcia Romano and Benoît Sabatier. The screenwriter and the former rock critic have teamed up to make "films that are more or less musical" , as Acid explains.
In Fotogenico, they tell the story of Raoul who, unable to mourn, arrives in Marseille, the city of his missing daughter. He finds the gang, his band, even the dealer. He wants to understand, to make amends. But where will this intimate investigation lead him? What if music were a cry to rekindle his heart?
The film's cast includes Christophe Paou(L'Inconnu du Lac, Gare du Nord), Roxane Mesquida(Sheitan, Réalité), Angèle Metzger and John Arnold.
As a reminder, the Acid section of the Cannes Film Festival has been showcasing different, independent French and international films since 1992. Acid acts as a real springboard for these feature films, helping them to find their audience and, for some, a distributor. In fact, some films do not yet have a distributor when they are screened at the Cannes Festival.
