Merry Christmas, Mom!: family comedy starring Michelle Pfeiffer on Prime Video

Directed by Michael Showalter (The Big Sick, The Idea of Being with You), Merry Christmas, Mom! is a brand new family comedy available on Prime Video from December 3, 2025. Written by Chandler Baker and Michael Showalter, the film stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Felicity Jones, and Dominic Sessa in a tender and chaotic story about the spirit of Christmas and family.

Claire Clauster (Michelle Pfeiffer) plays a devoted mother who is the backbone of her family. Every year, she carefully orchestrates the Christmas preparations. But this time, everything goes awry: after organizing a special outing, her family forgets about her. Alone and tired of being taken for granted, Claire decides to enjoy her own Christmas, while her family sets out to find her.

Between misunderstandings, tenderness, and laughter, the film explores the value of shared time and the often invisible role of mothers during the holidays. Michael Showalter humorously revisits the conventions of Christmas movies by placing a strong and emotional heroine at the center.

The cast includes Felicity Jones, Chloë Grace Moretz, Denis Leary, Danielle Brooks, Devery Jacobs, Havana Rose Liu, Maude Apatow, Jason Schwartzman, Eva Longoria, and Joan Chen. The film highlights generational diversity and end-of-year family dynamics. Its soundtrack includes a new song by Gwen Stefani, "Shake The Snow Globe," produced for Amazon Music.

Beneath its apparent lightheartedness, Joyeux Noël, Maman ! celebrates the resilience and humor of the women who keep the holidays going. The tone oscillates between situational comedy and more introspective moments, with a lively and benevolent direction.
