After an acclaimed first season, Yellowstone spin-off 1923 returns for a second season as epic and dramatic as ever. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the series continues to explore the origins of the powerful Dutton family in an America tormented by Prohibition and the Great Depression.
Boasting a prestigious cast including Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, this new season promises to continue Jacob and Cara Dutton's tale of unprecedented drought, cattle rustling and the social tensions of the time. Fans of Yellowstone and historical westerns will find here an intense family fresco, blending drama, action and grandiose landscapes.
1923 Season 2 will be broadcast on Paramount+ from February 23, 2025.
Synopsis: During Prohibition and the Great Depression, Jacob Dutton and his wife Cara struggle against a historic drought and cattle rustling. They're going to have to take up arms.
1923 Season 2 will appeal above all to fans of historical dramas, westerns and intense family series. Fans of Yellowstone will find a captivating deepening of the Dutton family story, with themes such as resilience in the face of crisis, struggles for survival and defense of the land.
The presence of Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, two legends of the cinema, guarantees top-notch performances, giving this fresco added prestige and depth. Viewers who enjoyed 1883, another Yellowstone spin-off, should also be seduced by this series exploring the tormented history of rural America. On the other hand, viewers unfamiliar with the Yellowstone universe or with slow-paced, contemplative stories may find it harder to immerse themselves in this ambitious fresco.
Created by Taylor Sheridan, master of modern dramas mixing family and territory, 1923 explores a complex period of American history with striking realism. The script deftly blends the Duttons' personal issues with landmark historical events such as Prohibition, agricultural strife and the Great Depression, providing a rich framework for dramatic, human storytelling.
The grand landscapes characteristic of Sheridan's series continue to play a major role in the staging, as do the themes of conquest, power and survival. This season should also deepen the conflicts between the Duttons and their rivals, while exploring the fragile family dynamics of Jacob and Cara Dutton.
With season 2, 1923 promises to continue the Dutton family epic in a brutal historical context where every decision can have dramatic consequences. The presence of iconic actors such as Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, combined with Taylor Sheridan's vision, makes this series a must-see for fans of westerns, historical drama and poignant family stories.
