Kaamelott - Part 2 Part 1 trailer

The official trailer highlights the saga's epic tone and characteristic humor, while revealing new characters and strategic issues for Arthur and his companions.

Where and when can you see Kaamelott - Deuxième volet Part 1?

Kaamelott - Deuxième volet Part 1 will be released in cinemas from October 22, 2025. Part 2 is scheduled for November 11, 2026.

Synopsis: King Arthur attempts to reunite his former companions to repel the invading Saxons. But past grudges and conflicting egos threaten the cohesion of his allies. The time has come for the fallen sovereign to regain his throne and fulfill his destiny.

A single film in two parts

Kaamelott - Deuxième volet is conceived as a continuous work, divided into two distinct parts. Alexandre Astier chose to film the whole thing in a single shoot over several months, guaranteeing the coherence of the narrative. The narrative adopts a choral structure, following different groups of characters sent on parallel quests, reinforcing thecollective aspect of the adventure.

An even larger cast

The film brings together many of the saga's historic actors, including Arthur, Perceval, Karadoc, Lancelot and Guinevere, as well as new recruits. These include Franck Dubosc, Thomas VDB and Claire Nadeau. This diversity reflects Astier's desire to blend heritage and novelty, while retaining theabsurd humor and group dynamics characteristic of the Kaamelott universe.

Narrative evolution and continuity of tone

In this second installment, the mix of comedy and drama remains central. Astier pursues his ambition to offer a work that is both entertaining and profound, integrating political issues, initiation quests and tales of honor. The original music and staging reinforce this artistic continuity, true to the spirit of the saga.

Who is this new section aimed at?

Kaamelott - Part 2 Part 1 should appeal above all to fans of the series and the first film. But its epic tone and rich narrative may also appeal to viewers interested in accessibleheroic fantasy stories combining humor and drama. The film's choral dimension and atmosphere could be compared to sagas such as The Lord of the Rings (Peter Jackson) or recent medieval frescoes such as The Green Knight (David Lowery).

The essentials about Kaamelott - Part 2 Part 1

Directed by Alexandre Astier, Kaamelott - Deuxième volet Partie 1 continues the plot of the first film, while launching a new two-part epic. With an expanded cast, a choral structure and strong narrative ambition, this cinematic project blends humor, drama and adventure in a medieval-fictional setting.

Our review of Kaamelott - Part 2 Part 1

After three years of waiting for King Arthur to return, has the reunion gone well? Pretty well... But before we go any further with our review of this second instalment, a quick clarification: the film was presented to us in a non-final version. The film is well and truly finished in its editing and will remain unchanged in its sequence of shots (unless otherwise indicated): only certain scenes have not yet been set to music. So we won't be mentioning the music in our review.

But let's get back to business: this second installment (part 1) succeeds in breathing new life into the franchise, after a surprising first installment, the format being light-years away from the M6 pastille. Managing to make a feature-length film (i.e. much longer than a five-minute pastille) as funny and as accurate in its writing and acting was a real challenge, which left us a little disappointed as the film dragged on and on.

But this second installment makes up for that with a lot more humor, well-felt and well-delivered. So you won't be laughing out loud either, but the smiles and giggles are there, constant throughout the film. Without going into too much detail (we won't spoil the surprise either), we particularly like the trio of Guillaume Gallienne (Alzagar), Clovis Cornillac (Quarto) and Redouane Bougheraba (Silas), who are as funny as they are dynamic. Special mention must also go to Alain Chabat who, although his appearance is short, remains remarkable. Audrey Fleurot (La Dame du Lac) also has a few well-crafted lines, and is particularly adept at repetitive comedy. As for the dialogue, it's well-written and hard-hitting.

A particularly dynamic film, too, contrasting with the length of the first part. As for the storytelling, since the film is a transition between the first part and part 2, due to be released in 2026, there are no specific plot conclusions or developments (apart from Arthur and Lancelot), as expected, but the stories, which are told independently of each other, progress quite well. And as for the photography, there are a number of attractive proposals, from the snowy landscapes of Iceland to the sunny Malta. All in all, Kaamelott Part 1 is a pleasure to watch. Looking forward to the end next year.
