The next central storyline in The Bridgerton Chronicle will follow Francesca Stirling and Michaela Stirling. Netflix gears up for Season 5 in 2027; filming has kicked off near London with Hannah Dodd and Masali Baduza stepping into those two roles. This announcement comes on the heels of Season 4, now fully available, dedicated to Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek. The lineup also earned Julie Andrews an Emmy Award in 2026 for voicing Lady Whistledown.
Season 4, released online on January 29 and February 26, 2026, pairs Luke Thompson with Yerin Ha. Benedict meets Sophie at a masquerade ball and then sets out to find this woman whose social standing he doesn’t know. Based on Julia Quinn’s novel A Perfect Gentleman, this installment questions the role of class in the lovers’ choices. The young woman is named Sophie Baek in the Netflix series, and not “Sophie Beckett” as previously stated in this article.
The trailer for Season 4:
Season 5 will explore Francesca's choices and the feelings drawing her closer to Michaela. Netflix bills this chapter as the show's first central same-sex romance between two characters. Tega Alexander, Jacqueline Boatswain and Gemma Knight Jones join the cast. Season 6 has also been ordered, but no release schedule has been announced yet.
Produced by Shondaland, Bridgerton Chronicle was created by Chris Van Dusen; Jess Brownell is the showrunner for the recent seasons. This clarification distinguishes the overall creation of the series from the steering of its new chapters. The voice of Lady Whistledown remains Julie Andrews', a recurring presence that accompanies the intrigues of London's high society.
At the 2026 Emmy Awards, Julie Andrews won the prize for best vocal performance by a character for Lady Whistledown. The series was also recognized for its hairstyling. These awards focus on vocal work and production crafts, and do not designate this season as the best drama series.
