The traditional Cannes Film Festival press conference on Thursday, April 10, 2025 unveiled the films that will be in the official selection for this 78th edition. While the films in official competition for the Palme d'Or and those in the Un Certain Regard selection are the focus of everyone's attention, the feature films in the parallel sections are just as exciting.
Just likeJuno Mak's film Sons of the Neon Night, which will be presented as a midnight screening at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. Juno Mak is a singer, music producer, actor, artist and director from Hong Kong. Sons of the Neon Night is the Hong Konger's second film, following Rigor Mortis, released in 2013.
Sons of the Neon Night will be unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. The release date in French cinemas is as yet unknown.
Synopsis: A gigantic explosion and shootout in Causeway Bay, a district of downtown Hong Kong, turns out to be a diversion, the prelude to a series of savage actions planned by the heir to a global pharmaceutical conglomerate that culminates in the death of his own father, a drug baron.
