A special... musical... session awaits festival-goers at Cannes 2025. The traditional press conference on Thursday April 10 unveiled a large part of the official selection, including films in competition for the Palme d'Or, Un Certain Regard and special screenings.
And this year, U2 singer Bono will be on hand with his documentary film Stories of Surrender. A"film-essay, a film-concert, a film-theater, a film-performance, a film-poetry", explained Cannes Festival general delegate Thierry Frémaux when announcing the selection.
Stories of Surrender will be unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. The film will be available on Apple TV+ on May 30, 2025.
Synopsis: A lyrical exploration of Bono's show, "Stories of Surrender: An Evening of Words, Music and Some Mischief...", in which he lifts the veil on his extraordinary life and the family, friends and faith that have challenged and sustained him, while revealing the personal stories that have marked his journey as son, father, husband, activist and rockstar. In this documentary, featuring exclusive never-before-seen footage from shows at the Beacon Theatre, Bono performs the iconic U2 songs that have shaped his life and legacy.
