Elie finally thinks he can take control of his life. After years spent caring for Sylvaine, his overbearing, ill mother, she has recovered. In a bar, he meets Anaïs, and their relationship quickly takes off. But this chapter of romance is interrupted by Sylvaine’s relapse, forcing Élie to confront his family responsibilities.
The film sits in a vein of romantic comedy where emotions clash with heavy, very tangible family realities. Between guilt, a desire for emancipation and the fear of letting a loved one down, Tout va super tackles a difficult balance: loving someone without disappearing into the caregiver role.
Patrick Cassir, already the director of Premières vacances, returns with his second feature. Tout va super has been selected for competition at the Festival International du Film de Comédie de l’Alpe d’Huez 2026, where it sits among the French comedies showcased ahead of their theatrical release.
