M.I.A., a new drama series created by Bill Dubuque, co-creator of Ozark, will be available exclusively on Paramount+ in France starting on May 7, 2026. Spanning nine episodes, the series follows a young woman from the Florida Keys who is drawn into Miami’s seedy underworld after her family’s criminal drift.

The plot follows Etta Tiger Jonze, a young woman who feels stifled in the Florida Keys and longs for a different life in Miami. When the drug trade her family is entangled in blows up into tragedy, she sets out on a dangerous journey through a city defined by its neon lights, its promises, and its dark corners.
The story follows a tense journey of self-emancipation: Etta must learn to survive in a criminal world that threatens to overwhelm her, all while discovering how far she’s willing to go to protect her place and her future. The series sits at the crossroads of family drama, crime thriller, and an ascent narrative on the margins of Miami.
M.I.A. is created, written and produced by Bill Dubuque, an Emmy-nominated figure already linked to Ozark. Karen Campbell, who has worked on Outlander, Dexter and Raised by Wolves, serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer.
The first two episodes are directed by Alethea Jones, who also serves as a producer. Gwyneth Horder-Payton, Mairzee Almas, Ben Semanoff, and John Dahl also direct episodes in this first season.
