Death Stranding 2 announced with great fanfare! PlayStation and Kojima Productions have announced on social networks that they are organizing a special panel around the game, entitled Death Stranding 2: On The Beach Special Panel, at the SXSW 2025 festival in Austin, Texas. The event will take place on March 9 at 4pm (CDT) in the festival's Ballroom D. Hideo Kojima will present new information on Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, the sequel to Death Stranding, which will be released exclusively on PS5 later this year.
During the presentation, Hideo Kojima will talk about what's at stake in this new opus and share previously unpublished details about his universe. Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will feature Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux and Troy Baker, as well as new faces such as Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna and Oscar-winning director George Miller. The game continues the theme of human connection beyond the UCA, following Sam and his companions on a quest to save humanity from a foretold extinction.
In addition to the panel, Kojima Productions will be offering an exclusive pop-up store at SXSW, where visitors can discover products derived from the game, some of which will be available exclusively on site. The event, part of the SXSW 2025 festival (March 7-15), is in addition to the many conferences, screenings and interactive exhibits that punctuate this annual gathering of video game, film and technology professionals.
