October 2026 video game releases: the new titles to watch for on PC and consoles

October 2026’s video game releases are piling up across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, with notable titles including Rayman, Ace Combat, Star Wars, Dragon’s Dogma, and Final Fantasy. Here are the month’s key new releases, grouped by profile, along with the calendar of dates to watch.

The fall gaming season wastes no time and quickly gives way to a particularly varied month in October 2026. Players on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2 will host a mix of platformers, RPGs, horror titles, racers and big-budget FPS games. Some well-established licenses return in new iterations, while other releases take advantage of this autumn lineup to launch fresh episodes or content. The aim of this guide is simple: to gather the main releases of the month and help you quickly spot those that fit your gaming habits.

Our Game of the Month:

Star Wars: Galactic Racer carves out a special spot on the October calendar as it revs up high-speed racing once again within the saga’s universe. The game borrows the classic science-fiction racing vibe Star Wars has long been associated with, but builds its own take around a variety of vehicles and tracks. Its arrival also lets the license dip back into a genre that’s been underrepresented in recent adaptations, which have leaned more toward action, adventure, or strategy. That shift gives it a distinctive place among this month’s video game releases.
