A ledge can be enough to put a friendship to the test. In PEAK, reaching the summit demands as much watching your footing as counting on others. The climbing game developed by Aggro Crab and Landfall, available on PC since June 16, 2025, will release on PS5 (as well as on Xbox Series and on October 22, 2026, according to the developers on the PlayStation Blog.
The setup is simple to sum up: after a plane crash, a troupe of scouts winds up on an island and must scale a mountain in the hopes of being rescued. The ascent can be tackled solo or with friends. When playing together, you pick a path, help a teammate reach a ledge, and place gear to steady the group’s progress.
The challenge isn’t just about the height. Hunger, injuries, and the terrain’s hazards complicate the route and drain the resources you need to keep climbing. A bad call can make the next obstacle far tougher than expected.
The console version will include crossplay, meaning players on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2 can team up. Teams can consist of up to four players in total, so everyone doesn’t have to own the same platform.
The developers also announced that this edition will include all previously released content updates, along with their environments and extra items. Custom matches will let players adjust certain settings to make the expedition easier or harder.
On PC, the map rotates every 24 hours. The route you learn today gives way to a new layout tomorrow: even a team that’s just getting the hang of the ropes and pitons has to regularly rethink its path.
