Maliki back on PC and consoles! After an attractive presentation at Paris Games Week, Ankama and Blue Banshee invite you to discover Maliki: Poison of the Past, available since April 22, 2025 on PC and Nintendo Switch (and Ankama Launcher). This single-player adventure RPG, inspired by the Maliki comic strip, features turn-based exploration and combat.
Developed by the Blue Banshee studio, co-founded by Souillon, creator of the comic strip, Maliki: Poison of the Past is part of the universe of the series, which has sold over 300,000 copies through its eight volumes and three novels. In this videogame adaptation, players accompany Maliki and her entourage in a confrontation with Poison, a plant creature threatening the balance of the world across space and time. The game combines exploration, temporal puzzles and strategic confrontations.
Combat mechanics are distinguished by the introduction of temporal manipulation, allowing players to alter the course of time in the midst of combat. This system opens up the possibility of creating strategic sequences, sending enemies into the past or anticipating future actions. Between adventures, a refuge called the Domain serves as a base where players can farm, cook and tinker to strengthen the team. The game's aesthetic combines influences from comics and video games, with a dynamic graphic approach inspired by the Japanese chibi style.
A presentation video released for the occasion reveals more about the gameplay, with explanations from Blue Banshee presidentÉtienne Jacquemain and game designer Clément Gastaldo. Interested gamers can now add the game to their wish list on Steam to follow its progress.
