ENDLESS Legend 2 will exit early access on September 17, 2026, with the launch of version 1.0 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. Amplitude Studios is expanding its turn-based strategy game with new factions, an updated demo, and a simultaneous launch on consoles.
Aimed at fans of turn-based strategy, Endless Legend 2 is ready to reach a new milestone. After months in early access on PC, ENDLESS Legend 2 is poised to move forward. Hooded Horse and Amplitude Studios have announced the 1.0 release, scheduled for September 17, 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. The game will exit early access as it lands on consoles for the first time, with a physical edition also planned for PS5.
The new entry once again sends players to Saiadha, an oceanic world whose landscapes shift as the seas recede and cataclysmic events unfold. You’ll build a network of cities, marshal armies led by heroes with diverse skills, and explore this ever-changing realm to uncover its secrets. The Version 1.0 also expands the palette with several new factions, including the Keepers of the Sands, an ancient civilization seeking to restore Saiadha to its former desert visage, as well as the first renegade factions and a new minor faction, the Harmony Mangrove, developed with the community.
The full release also marks the game’s debut on consoles. Players will be able to experience ENDLESS Legend 2 on Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, PS5 and Xbox Series starting from September 17, 2026. A new demo is already available on PC and consoles, featuring two playable factions, while two physical PS5 editions, developed in partnership with Strictly Limited, are open for pre-orders with select retailers.
Our preview of Endless Legend II:
During a hands-on session, we got our hands on Endless Legend II for a solid two hours, the eagerly awaited installment for fans of the series... And since I’m not exactly a strategy-game addict, I came away pleasantly surprised by the overall offering. We were given an early, work-in-progress build, so we won’t judge the visuals or any bugs early on. One definite plus: the visuals are quite pretty and fit the universe you’re stepping into. A good sign to start.
Next up, on the gameplay side, we practiced with one faction (out of two). We could have tried both (it was on the plan), but we chose to focus on one and grind it as much as possible to deliver a more complete review on this aspect... We started with the Heroes faction (Kin of Sheredyn), the other being the Aspects—the diplomats. The mechanics feel smooth and complete, and the learning curve is fairly intuitive.
Note that we hadn’t played Endless Legend, the original, so we have no direct comparison to the earlier title. If you’re jumping into the game without any knowledge of the universe, the license, or even the genre, you’re good to go with your eyes closed! Everything is explained clearly, and the community will always be there to answer questions or help you progress. For fans of the franchise, the learning curve will be near instantaneous, as you fall back into familiar gameplay loops.
The idea behind this preview with our chosen faction was to find a patch of land for our people and tackle conflicts—either by force or through diplomacy. On that front, the options feel broad and not overly restricted. Do keep in mind you’ll need XP to develop your heroes and faction skills to push your missions forward, with turn-based progression typical of many strategy games.
We particularly appreciated how the narrative elements are staged—rich, dynamic, well integrated, and it reshapes how you approach a campaign or mission. On the combat side, things move at a satisfying pace, aided by movement points (up to 5 per turn) that streamline troop maneuvers across the map.
Another major plus: the map evolves with weather and climatic conditions, completely altering terrain as you play. The idea is to push through a landscape of constant uncertainty about where to establish a bastion or a settlement. Monsoons, typhoons—you’re not spared if the game decides otherwise. This unpredictability adds spice and helps avoid boredom.
So what more can I say about this title… not much, really, except that we had a solid time trying to carry out the Kin of Sheredyn’s missions and set up a more permanent presence on the island of Saiadha. Mission accomplished, more or less—or at least it felt that way. Your turn now, if you’ve got Early Access. If not, you’ll have to wait until this summer!
